Our Story

St. Stanislaus was on the verge of closure in 2014, however through good stewardship and leadership, it has grown from roughly 150 parishioners in 2015 to approximately 500 today. Significant investment by the growing congregation has allowed for many improvements to both the basic physical plant as well as beautification of the worship space. The high altar that resides at St. Stan’s was rescued from the Polish founded St. Anthony parish in Toledo, Ohio. The side altars, also rescued (St. Agnes in Omaha, NE), were transported, painted and gold leafed by the charitable time and talents of families at St. Stanislaus. As we reflect on the sacrifices of all those who have gone before by celebrating the 125th anniversary of St. Stanislaus parish, it seems appropriate to continue in the same spirit of sacrifice to ensure the next generations will be provided a Church that embodies the true, the good, and the beautiful.

The existing church is loved and cherished by many parishioners, which is evident from the care and maintenance of the property that they have shown over the past ten years. Presently, however, updates are needed to practically use the space and preserve its structural integrity. This will impact old, young, the ever-growing families and beloved guests and visitors. Many entering the doors of St. Stanislaus travel a great distance to worship here and these updates will benefit them as well as others wishing to commune with fellow parishioners.

This campaign involves repairs for a structural issue associated with the choir loft, as well as needed facility renovations. Through a 2-year process and upon the recommendation of two St. Stanislaus Committees, as well as with approval from Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades, the parish is embarking on a capital campaign.

To assist in this endeavor, the parish applied for a competitive grant through Sacred Places Indiana, a program of Indiana Landmarks which is funded by the Lilly Endowment. In November of 2024 St. Stanislaus was awarded $125,000 for needed structural repairs. The next steps in the project were secured through a committee selection of a local architect firm, as well as the selection of a general contractor.

While membership at St. Stanislaus has steadily increased over the past ten years, the capital campaign committee sees the importance of reaching out beyond its base parishioners for funding.
